ombre & dots

I've been wanting to do a purple ombre paint job for a while.  I pulled the colors and it just looked so dull.  I love a purple ombre paint job but it just didn't have enough pop for me right now.
Bring in the teal accent nail.  But even just a teal accent nail(s) was looking a little dull.  I had my dotting tool out and what quicker way to spice up a nail then with some dots.  The end result is fabulous (at least in my opinion).  And even with my nails being on the longer side (long for me), this paint job doesn't make them look scary.

grey & gold

I am loving the quicky paint jobs.  Nothing fancy but quick and fun.  I picked out a polish (grey) that I haven't really used a lot.  I love the color but it has of a winter chill to it.  It is not depressing dark but something about it is somber.  Well, I can't have that on my nails so I added an accent finger of gold.  Silver would have been the obvious choice with grey but the micro flecks of glitter in the grey polish are gold.  It just works.  Totally not spring-ish, more New Years Eve feeling.

quicky

I cannot think of a title/name for this paint job.  It is sort of out there.  It reminds me of Louboutin shoes (silver glitter with a red sole).  But for more of a shoe paint job, it would just be one red accent nail instead of red being the main color
I haven't done a red nail in a long time.  It's always fun to go back to a classic.

turquoise & glitter

I went with a stand by turquoise polish (I still don't like the formula, way too thin) but needed to spice it up a little bit.  I pulled this great glitter polish that is very subtle.
Just a little glitter on the tips to create a subtle glitter gradient.  Then an accent finger of layer upon layer of glitter polish.  I love this glitter and polish combo.   It is wicked pretty together.

military coat

I was just pulling colors and found these five that all are in the same hue/family.  They are a little dark but with the addition of the gold studs, the overall paint job has some life to it.
Then top it all off with a matte top coat, and it makes it look like different wool military coat with gold buttons.  I wish I had done the arrow stripes on the index finger instead of the studs.  But that might have been too coat/military.

june polish day - to boldly go

This month's polish day challenge is 'To Boldly Go'.  Space, Star Wars, Star Trek, galaxy nails, NASA, etc.  I have been wanting to do a galaxy paint job for a long time.  I was all set to do one until I got a super cute voice mail from my nephews.  They are Star Wars nuts.
I quickly changed my mind on the paint job and planned out a Star Wars themed one instead.

come on barbie, lets go barbie

Why reference Barbie in the title?  For some reason this paint job makes me think of Barbie.  There is just something about the combo of deep hot pink (aka Barbie's dream car color) and royal blue.  It is just so loud and in-your-face.
Then add in the metal rhinestones and it just gets worse.  This is my first time using these metal rhinestones and I really like them.  They don't really work with the base blue color but they still pop.

jewelry box

I bought this blue polish because I thought it was close to Tiffany's blue.  It is close but just one shade off.  I still love it.  Plus, the polish formula has awesome coverage.  The brush is a bit wonky but hard to complain when it was a dollar.  I then added not one, but two fingers of a great glitter/jelly polish.  Just more jewels in the box.

purple

I've said it before, I like purple.  It is my go-to polish color.  There are just so many purples (and I own quite a few).  It is a great color because it can range from pink/purple to blue/purple to even brown/purple.  It can be so light it is almost white, so dark it appears black.
It is also a very hard color to photograph.  Even using a light box, it never appears the same.  Both the base color and jelly glitter are OPI from the Euro collection.  A quick paint job but still has some pizazz with the glitter.
