A college friend was visiting this past weekend. She is from Philadelphia and is a huge sports nut. I drew up a ton of different paint jobs for her to pick from (a different one each day). They all came out great but there were a couple that she did not use that I like. So, I used (and will be using) one.
The Phillies! It's a rather simple paint job. However, the red Sharpie I tried to use for the pin stripes and baseball stitches faded and bleed a lot. Not good at all. I had to go over them with some paint (which I should have just used in the first place).
The nails aren't perfect, far from it. But they are fun. The 'P' is the Phillies logo P. There is a baseball, pin stripe uniform, Liberty Bell, and the star over the Phillies name.

When not having a little too much fun painting my nails I am a chef. I don't wear polish in the kitchen so I have a lot of opportunities to paint my nails. My nails can get a little crazy but isn't that what nail art is about?

stars
I knew I could last long with just a one color polish job. Stamping it would have to be since rhinestones and/or studs wouldn't work with GoldenEye. GoldenEye is just so vibrant, glittery and matalic, it would be hard to find a rhinestone that would work (oh no, I now have a new mission).
The stamping polish would have to be something rich and deep as well to hold up against the gold. I also wanted something within the same sparkle family (I don't think that term would work or be understood anywhere outside of the nail art world). My new China Glaze color would be perfect. I currently have it on my toes, a perfect pedi fall color.

Rock Star
Stickers! For some reason I thought stickers would be a good idea on my nails. Well, they do work in theory but these particular stickers just don't work. I guess when getting stickers I should go for the cheaper stickers that don't hold their shape. For the life of me, these stars would not bend to go on the nail. Will I try again, probably since I have a full sheet of stars. I think my problem was I put the stars on while the white polish was still a little tacky. I might even wait until the next morning next time. And the corner of the stars are wickedly sharp and pointy. They keep catching on things. Overall I do like the look of the metallic stars on the white base. It is sort of punk-rock but very bright and cheery. The pinky does look a little funny but these were the smallest star stickers I could find. Till next time...
